Excited

I’ve decided to start my training by alternating the 3 required disciplines. Ideally, I will swim twice a week, bike twice a week and run twice a week. I have set myself monthly goals to attempt to achieve and I will gradually be increasing the intensity and frequency as my fitness increases.

Month 1 goal:

To comfortably be able to…

Swim: 350m

Bike: 15km

Run: 3.5km

Here we go!

Daunting

In exactly 52 weeks, I’m hoping to achieve the biggest goal I’ve ever set for myself, completing and becoming an Ironman at the 40th Ironman NZ Event in Taupo.

You are welcome to follow my journey, celebrating the small successes, overcoming the many obstacles and ultimately stepping up to the challenge.

I will post weekly updates on my training, nutrition, results, good days, bad days and anything in between. I’m hoping to go from fairly comfortably doing a 50m swim, 5km bike and 1km run to swimming 3.8 km, biking 180km and running 42km.

Right now, the pure thought makes me nauseous, but if I can achieve this, what else would be possible?
